Internet, SMS Services Suspended In Nuh For 2 Days, Police Ask People To Offer Friday Prayers At Home
The Haryana government has suspended the internet and SMS services in Nuh for two days to prevent any untoward incident. Police have also asked residents to offer Friday prayers at their homes.
Days after Nuh district administration in Haryana witnessed violent clashes and blockage of the internet, the state government on Friday ordered the suspension of the internet and bulk SMS services in the district for two days, from September 15 to September 16 (23:59 hours). Section 144 of CrPC has also been imposed in the area to prevent any untoward incident. According to ANI, Nuh SP urged people to offer Friday prayers at their homes. The decision has been taken to "to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order".
The development comes just hours after the arrest of Haryana Congress MLA Mamman Khan in connection with the Nuh violence case. Khan will be produced before a district court later today and hence, security has been heightened outside the court as well. Khan, an MLA from Ferozepur Jhirka, was named an accused in an FIR lodged after the communal clashes. Police said he was arrested late last night, reported PTI.

"This order is issued to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order in the jurisdiction of district Nuh in the state of Haryana and shall be in force with effect from September 15 (10:00hrs) to September 16 (2359hrs)," says the order issued by Home Department Additional Chief Secretary T V S N Prasad.
"It has been brought to my notice by Deputy Commissioner, Nuh, vide his request dated September 14 that there is an apprehension of causing tension, annoyance, agitation, damage of public & private property and disturbance of public peace & tranquillity in the district," the order further read.
Meanwhile, heavy deployment of police forces has been made in the entire Nuh district following Khan's arrest.
