Earthquake of 4.2 Magnitude Jolts Rajasthan's Bikaner And Adjoining Areas

Rajasthan's Bikaner experienced an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter's scale on Sunday, reported National Center for Seismology (NCS).

An earthquake of 4.2 magnitude jolted Bikaner in Rajasthan in the early hours of Sunday. National Center for Seismology (NCS) stated that the earthquake hit Bikaner at 2:16 am and the tremors of the same were felt by the adjoining areas too.

As per NCS, the epicentre of the earthquake was 516 km west of Bikaner and it struck at a depth of 8 km.

No casualties or damage to property have been reported yet.

Prior to this, an earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale hit Changlang in Arunachal Pradesh, the National Center for Seismology informed.

On Friday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter Scale hit 28km SE of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh at 10:31 am IST, National Centre for Seismology said

"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.0, Occurred on 24-03-2023, 10:31:49 IST, Lat:26.01 & Long:78.35, Depth: 10 Km, Location: 28km SE of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India" Tweeted NCS.

NCS also informed that an earthquake of magnitude on the Richter Scale struck Moirang of Manipur. The earthquake struck Moirang at 08:52 am. NCS tweeted, "Earthquake of Magnitude:3.9, Occurred on 24-03-2023, 08:52:40 IST, Lat: 24.23 & Long: 93.86, Depth: 51 Km, Location: 31km SSE of Moirang, Manipur, India".

An earthquake of magnitude 3.9 on the Richter Scale struck Moirang of Manipur, India on Friday, informed National Centre for Seismology (NCS). According to NSC, the earthquake struck Moirang at 08:52 am. "Earthquake of Magnitude:3.9, Occurred on 24-03-2023, 08:52:40 IST, Lat: 24.23 & Long: 93.86, Depth: 51 Km, Location: 31km SSE of Moirang, Manipur, India," Tweeted NCS.

On Thursday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter Scale hit 60km east-southeast of Moirang, Manipur, informed National Centre for Seismology (NSC). According to NSC, the earthquake struck Moirang at 6:51 pm.

Earlier on Tuesday, people in north India including Delhi and its surrounding areas felt earthquake tremors in the evening with many people coming to open spaces as a precautionary measure. Following the tremors, the Delhi Fire Service received calls regarding tilted buildings and cracks appearing in the buildings from Jamia Nagar, Kalkaji area and Shahdara area.

Fire services teams rushed to these areas to take stock of the situation. However, authorities later confirmed that no tilting was found in buildings due to the earthquake, as reported by ANI.
