'Nothing Has Been Done By BJP And Congress In 75 Years To Save Yamuna': Delhi's Water Minister Satyendra Jain

Delhi Water Minister Satyendra Jain blamed BJP and Congress for pollution of river Yamuna, saying both parties have done nothing in the last 75 years.

The news of Delhi's river Yamuna being polluted is in discussions everywhere Since the women took a dip in the polluted river on the occasion of Chhath Puja, everyone's attention has been drawn towards it. Meanwhile, Delhi Water Minister Satyendra Jain has said that the reason for such pollution of the river Yamuna is because BJP and Congress did not pay any heed towards it. He says that both the parties have not undertaken any work to clean the river Yamuna in the last 75 years. And so the river Yamuna has become polluted to this extent.

He further said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government will keep its promise to clean the river by the end of 2024. The Aam Aadmi Party will do the work that the rest of the parties could not do.

Delayed but the promise is in place

Speaking about this, Jain further said, 'Before the elections, we said that we would clean the Yamuna by 2024. There was a delay due to the Corona pandemic but we stand by our promise.'

Satyendra Jain said, 'The Yamuna has not become dirty (polluted) just today, it has been like that for 75 years. BJP and Congress were in power in Delhi, but they did nothing to clean the river.'

The Minister also said that with the completion of four major Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in Kondli, Rithala, Okhla and Coronation Pillar areas by December 2022, the sewage treatment capacity in the capital will increase by about 50 percent.
