'Crossed All Lines Of Decency': TMC Accuses Bengal BJP Chief Of Inciting Violence Against Mamata
"BJP Bengal state president Sukanta has crossed all lines of decency," TMC said in a post on X.
New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday attacked West Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar, accusing him of promoting "physical violence" against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The TMC took to social media to express its concern, stating, "BJP Bengal state president Dr Sukanta has crossed all lines of decency. Pandering to his puppet masters in Delhi has blinded him and made him so devoid of values that he now shamelessly encourages physical violence against the only woman Chief Minister of India."
The ruling party attached an 8-second video clip of a public speech by the state BJP chief.

The TMC deemed Majumdar's behaviour not only as an insult to Mamata Banerjee but as an affront to women at large. The party went on to brand the BJP as a party of "anti-women, chauvinistic and misogynistic hooligans who have no respect for the dignity of women."
Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra condemned the incident, labelling it as shameful and reflective of the depths to which the "BJP could sink."
In a video statement, Moitra said, "The head of the Bengal BJP who's also an MP has just publicly made a speech where he calls for physical violence to be used against the chief minister of Bengal Mamata Banerjee. It is absolutely shameful and just shows the depths to which the BJP can sink."

"This is a party that disrespects women. The Prime Minister keeps talking about Nari Shakti. Prime Minister your head of the BJP in Bengal has just called for the public to slap the chief minister. We've never heard of something so outrageous. We expect an apology from your misogynist patriarchal help in Bengal and we would also expect everyone in your party to come out and denounce these comments," she further stated.
Adding to the criticism, West Bengal minister Shashi Panja condemned Majumdar and the BJP over the alleged remarks. "Sukanta Majumdar BJP president in Bengal speaks venom again. Derogatory words, inflammatory speeches & he is provoking the public to slap CM Mamata Banerjee. This is their aptitude, this is the respect they show to women. This is a central government that does atrocities against women. Do not punish the perpetrators," she said.

The BJP has not yet responded to these allegations, and the incident is likely to intensify the ongoing political tensions in West Bengal.
