'Baniya Ka Beta Hu, Payi-Payi Ka Hisab...': Shah's Dig At Hooda Over Congress's 'Hisaab Maange Haryana' Campaign
The Congress on Monday had launched the 'Haryana Maange Hisab' campaign, targeting the ruling BJP on various fronts, including unemployment and law and order, ahead of assembly polls.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday addressed a 'Backward Class Samman Sammelan' in Haryana where he targetted Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda over the party's "Hisaab Maange Haryana" campaign and said that the former Haryana CM needs to give an account of the corruption he was involved in during his tenure.
Taking a dig at Hooda, Shah said: "Baniya ka beta hu, payi-payi ka hisab lekar chalta hu (I am the son of a Baniya, I have come with an account every single penny)."
"You give an account of corruption in jobs, spreading casteism, injustice with the downtrodden and nepotism. What account do you want? We will give you an account of things and the people of Haryana will seek an account from the Congress." he added.
The Union Home Minister also took a jibe at the Congress campaign saying, "Hooda Sahab, I have come here with the accounts, what will you ask for? I challenge you to go in public with a portfolio of our works of 10 years and Congress's work of 10 years."

The Congress on Monday had launched the 'Haryana Maange Hisab' campaign, targeting the ruling BJP on various fronts, including unemployment and law and order, ahead of the assembly polls in the state.
The opposition party had also released a charge sheet against the BJP-led ruling government in Haryana, claiming that it had failed on several fronts including law and order, employment generation, and protecting farmers.
'You Need To Give Your Accounts, Not Us': Shah
Shah also stressed that the saffron party workers will visit 6,250 village panchayat to provide them with the party's account regarding the developmental worls.
"The Congress government in Haryana and at the Centre sanctioned only Rs 41,000 crore to Haryana between 2004 and 2014. When the BJP's central and state government led by Manohar Lal Khattar came into power, we sanctioned Rs 2.59 lakh crores for Haryana," Shah said.
He further asked the former CM "Can you give accounts for providing fewer jobs, doing casteism, nepotism, and corruption? Hooda Sahab, you need to give your accounts, not us."
Shah also accused Congress of being anti-backward classes, alleging that the party would snatch the reservation and give it to Muslims if voted to power in Haryana.
Today was Shah's second visit to the state in less than a month. The Haryana Assembly Polls are slated to be held later this year across 90 seats, as the tenure of the state Legislative Assembly will end on November 3.
