5-Year-Old Girl, Who Was Rescued After She Fell Into A Borewell In MP, Dies

The girl's father, Ravi Kumar, said that she had fallen into the borewell at around 5:30 pm on Tuesday and was rescued around 2:30 am late that night.

The 5-year-old girl, who fell into a borewell in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district on Tuesday, has died after being rescued. The girl had fallen into the 25-foot-deep borewell in the Pipliya Rasoda village in Rajgarh and was later safely rescued after nearly eight hours of intense operation. However, her father said that she died on the way to the hospital. He said that she had fallen into the borewell at around 5:30 pm on Tuesday and was rescued around 2:30 am late that night.

"She fell into the borewell at around 5 pm yesterday. The rescue team reached the spot at 6-6.30 pm and they were able to rescue her by 2 am in the night. However, she died while she was being taken to hospital," her father Ravi Kumar, said.

Earlier, after receiving the information about the girl falling into the borewell, officials from the local administration, including Rajgarh collector Harsh Dikshit and newly appointed MLA Mohan Sharma reached the spot and a rescue operation was launched. Police said that the SDERF had reached the spot and arrangements were made to provide her oxygen inside the borewell shaft.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had also said that he was in touch with the local administration.
