Warriors storm into 4th straight NBA Finals post win over Rockets
Melbourne [Australia], May 29 (ANI): The Golden State Warriors booked their place in the NBA Finals for the fourth straight time after edging past the Houston Rockets 101-92 in the seventh game of the Western Conference finals at the Toyota Center on Tuesday.
Though Houston headed into the clash without their star guard Chris Paul, they managed to take a 54-43 lead over the reigning champions at half-time to leave Warriors coach Steve Kerr scratching his head.
However, Warriors bounced back in the second half of the match as they made their move with a 33-15 in the third quarter, with the Rockets setting a new NBA playoff record of making 27 straight misses during an epic cold streak from three-point range.
While Kevin Durant notched 34 points, Steph Curry finished with 27 points as the Warriors overcame the biggest halftime deficit in the history of Game 7 to eventually come out victorious, news.com.au reported.
For Rockets, James Harden finished with 32 points as the top-seeded bids to return to the finals for the first time since 1995, while Eric Gordon scored 23 points.
Warriors will now lock horns with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals on Thursday. (ANI)
