Noida DM Suhas L Yathiraj To Represent India At The Tokyo Paralympics

Suhas is a fast-paced badminton player. He has achieved a lot of success at national and international level. In 2016, he won gold medal in men's singles event at Asian Championships in China.

Tokyo Paralympic: The Paralympics begin in Tokyo on August 24. Gautam Buddha Nagar District Collector Suhas L.Y. and Varun Bhati will be representing the nation in Badminton and High Jumping respectively. Both these players have achieved many records in the past, hence expectations of billions rest on their shoulders. 

Suhas L.Y. is an outstanding player: Speaking of 2007 batch IAS Suhas L.Y., he ranks second in the world in para-badminton singles player rankings. He has outperformed beyond everyone's expectations. 

Suhas L.Y. has won many accolades and medals:

Suhas won a bronze medal in the Asian Para Games held in 2018 and was a runner up in 2017 Japan Open Para Badminton tournament held in Tokyo. He also won a bronze medal in SL-4 category mens doubles. Suhas is a fast-paced badminton player. He has achieved a lot of success at the national and international level. In 2016, he won a gold medal in the men's singles event at the Asian Championships held in China.

Suhas Lalinakere Yatiraj has been selected by Badmintion World Federation to represent India in the Tokyo Paralympics event. BWF has invited BAI and PCI India based on world rankings and performance. Suhas L.Y. is also the District Collector of Gautam Buddh Nagar district in UP, apart from being an IPS officer. He belongs to the 2007 batch of IPS. 

Suhas L.Y., a 2007 batch IAS Officer, hails from Shimoga district of Karnataka. Gautam had served as a district officer in UP districts like Prayagraj, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Sonbhadra, Maharajganj, Hathras before he became District Collector for Buddha Nagar. Suhas L.Y. studied computer engineering and was selected for IAS after passing the Civil Services Examination in 2007. Apart from fulfiling his administrative responsibilities, Suhas L.Y. is also very interested in sports. 

High expectations also from athlete Varun Bhati: The nation also has high expectations from Varun Bhati, an athlete from Jamalpur in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Varun Bhati won a bronze medal for the country at the 2016 Paralympics. He is also the first sportsperson from the state who is participating in the Paralympics for the second time in a row. 

Athlete Varun Bhati had finished fifth in the Asian Para Asian Games back in 2014. He also won the gold medal at the China Open Athletics Championships this year, making the country proud globally. Not only this, during the Rio Paralympics event September 10, 2016, he won a bronze medal in the Men's category by executive a high jump with a height of 1.86 meters. He has also been awarded the Arjuna and Lakshmana awards by the Indian Government for making the country proud by winning so many global accolades.
