Sachin's son Arjun becomes net bowler for Indian women's team ahead of final

Sachin's son Arjun becomes net bowler for Indian women's team ahead of finalPhoto: Twitter @Rudespot New Delhi: Sachin may be miles away from them but another Tendulkar is well and truly involved with the Indian Women’s cricket team’s quest to lift the World Cup. Arjun Tendulkar, Sachin’s son has been giving the likes of Harmanpreet Kaur and Veda Krishnamurthy some much needed left-arm seam bowling ahead of the all important World Cup final against England on Sunday at Lord’s. Arjun, who is a left handed batsman, also uses his left-arm to bowl some handy medium pace. On the eve of Women’s World Cup final, the all-rounder was seen bowing to Veda Krishnamurthy in the nets. The Indian side does not have a left-arm seamer in their team. Jhulan, Shikha and Mansi are all right-arm medium pacers, which may have been the reason for the Indian think tank to call someone like Arjun, who has attracted a lot of praise for his bowling, just to get the girls used to the left-armer’s angle. This was not the first occasion the junior Tendulkar was bowling to an international side in the nets. Earlier this year he caused a lot of discomfort for England wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow when his yorker found Baristow’s toe during England’s practice session. Indian eves will look to make history by lifting their first ever World Cup when they take on hosts England in the big final.
