Ranji Trophy: Team India's senior batter Hanuma Vihari is drawing immense praise from cricket fraternity for display of fighting spirit in the ongoing Ranji Trophy quarter-final match between Andhra Pradesh and defending champions Madhya Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh skipper Vihari scored 27 runs off 57 balls in first innings when his arm got injured while he made an attempt to dodge a quick bouncer from Madhya Pradesh pacer Avesh Khan. The right-handed batter broke his left wrist during the first innings. Andhra Pradesh scored 379 runs in the first innings. In reply, Madhya Pradesh got bowled out for 228 runs.
Andhra Pradesh batters too had a dreaded outing in 2nd innings and were reeling at 76/9 when injured Hanuma Vihari came out to bat at No 10.
He batted with a broken left wrist, played shots with only one hand in the second innings. During this, the right-handed batter scored 15 runs off 16 balls with help of three boundaries, which he hit while controlling the bat with only one hand to prevent his fractured wrist from getting exposed. Only four of Andhra's 11 batters scored in double figures and surprisingly Hanuma Vihari was one of them.

Ranji Trophy 2022-23 quarter-finals: Madhya Pradesh seal five-wicket win over Andhra Pradesh
In the first innings, remarkable tons from Ricky Bhui and Karan Shinde helped Andhra Pradesh score 379 runs. In reply, Madhya Pradesh conceded a significant lead as they scored 228/10 before bowling out Andhra Pradesh for just 93 in the 2nd innings, courtesy of a stunning four wicket haul from Avesh Khan. Madhya Pradesh needed to chase 245 runs for the win, which they did in 77 overs to win the match by 5 wickets.
