Praggnanandhaa Oozes Swagger, Obliges Fans With Autographs, Selfies In Viral Video From Norway Open

A video of Indian Chess prodigy R Praggnanandhaa is making rounds on social media, highlighting his growing stardom after his remarkable show at the Norway Chess competition.

Indian teenage chess prodigy Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa continued his dominant performance in the ongoing Norway Chess competition, defeating world number two Fabiano Caruana in a classical chess game during round five on June 1 (Saturday). This means that he has now defeated both the world number 1 (Magnus Carlsen) and world number 2 in the same event in the classical format. Interestingly, a video is making rounds on social media, that highlights Praggnanandhaa’s growing stardom, in which he can be seen walking with ‘swagger’ after achieving the remarkable feat in the realm of Chess.

The official social media handle of Norway Chess took to Instagram and posted a video of the 18-year-old, who can be seen walking with a swagger and signing autographs for his fans and posing with them for selfies.

“PRAGG IS BACK. Young prodigy Praggnanandhaa stuns the chess world again by defeating World No.2 Fabiano Caruana in Round 5! After toppling World No.1 Magnus Carlsen in Round 3, he’s now beaten the top two players in classical chess for the first time ever, rocketing into the top 10! What a tournament for the Indian prodigy,” reads the caption of the video post by Norway Chess on Instagram.

Praggnanandhaa Into Top 10 Of FIDE World Rankings

Before defeating Fabiano Caruana in round five, Praggnanandhaa had defeated Magnus Carlsen in round three of the Norway Open when he got the better of Carlsen with some intelligent moves. With these victories, he also moved into the top ten of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) World Rankings.
