PM Modi, President Mukherjee bowled over by Karun Nair's 300

New Delhi: Karun Nair forced Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee to take notice of his record breaking feat as they showered heaps of praise on the youngster, who became only the second Indian to notch up a triple century in Test cricket.

Nair announced his arrival at the world stage with an unforgettable triple ton (303 not out) as India broke a plethora of records en route their highest ever Test total of 759 for seven against England on the penultimate day of the fifth and final match at Chennai.

"Congratulations on the historic triple century @karun126! We all are delighted & proud of your remarkable feat," Modi wrote on his twitter handle.

“Congratulations @Karun126 for becoming 2nd Indian to score triple ton in Test; India rejoices at your success. #PresidentMukherjee,” wrote Pranab Mukherjee on his twitter handle.
