Battle moved to Sydney where India survived and managed to play out a draw backed by Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin's elongated batting effort on the final day. The final showdown was slated to happen at "Fortress" aka "The Gabbabattoir" or The Gabba where Australia was undefeated for 32 years.
