Paris Olympics 2024, Day 11: A medal might not have been added against India on the medal tally in the Paris Olympics 2024 but it was a day which gave the country several reasons to smile. Neeraj Chopra arrived in some style and announced that he is here to produce a strong defence to his Olympic Gold Medal in Paris.

Neeraj Chopra only needed a throw and it was a monstrous one- 89.34 metres- to not only secure a place in the medal round but top the qualification round with a season-best effort. Vinesh Phogat's performance also brought a lot of smiles to the faces of the Indians, especially after the manner in which the beat the reigning OIympic champion Yui Susaki in her first bout itself before going on to secure a place in the final of the Women's Freestyle 50 kg wrestling.
