Messi With Mamata Photo, Mbappe In A Mundu: Meme Fest In India After FIFA World Cup Final
Memes from the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, especially those involving Lionel Messi & Argentina have flooded social media in India.
Even though it's been over 48 hours since Argentina were crowned the FIFA World Cup champions when they defeated France in the final at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar on Sunday (December 18), the celebrations, especially on social media are far from over. Close to 16,000 kilometres away from Argentina, fans in India are taking to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to share some hilarious memes.
Lionel Messi and Argentina Fans in the South Asian country have shared some hilarious edited pictures of the 7-time Ballon d'Or Winner. While some have shared his picture with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, other images show him and his opponent on the night of the final, France's Kylian Mbappe, having tea in a Mundu.

Notably, the Albiceleste handed a defeat to Les Bleus 4-2 on penalties. While those in White and Sky Blue were clearly the dominant team in the first 80 minutes of the match, France made a remarkable comeback with their star forward Mbappe netting twice withing a span of 90 seconds to draw them level.
As the match headed into extra time, Lionel Messi scored his second goal of the match after having converted a penalty earlier and it seemed to be the winning goal until Mbappe yet again scored a goal to complete a historic hat-trick to force the match into penalty shootout.
Eventually though, Argentina emerged as the champions with each of their penalty takers scoring a goal. By contrast, Frenchman Coman was denied a penalty by Emi Martinez before Tchouameni went off target.
