Will LSG vs RCB Happen? Here's What Arun Dhumal Said

LSG vs RCB encounter is vital, with both teams in contention for a playoff spot.

Rising tensions between India and Pakistan have begun to affect Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. On Thursday, the match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamshala was abruptly canceled due to security concerns.

Following the cancellation, spectators were safely evacuated from the stadium and players were escorted back to their hotels under heightened security.

The incident has led to widespread speculation about whether the upcoming match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), scheduled for Friday (May 9), will also be called off.

After Dharamshala chaos, will LSG-RCB be next?

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chairman Arun Dhumal addressed the situation, saying, “We are reviewing the circumstances closely. The situation is evolving quickly, and we are awaiting guidance from the government. Any decision will be made keeping player safety and logistics in mind.”

When asked about the Friday fixture in Lucknow, Dhumal added, “As of now, the match is set to go ahead. However, with things changing rapidly, we'll act accordingly and take necessary precautions.”

Both teams have already arrived in Lucknow, where security has been tightened. While the city is not directly in a conflict zone, the broader national atmosphere means that changes could be made at the last minute if needed.

The LSG vs RCB encounter is vital, with both teams in contention for a playoff spot. However, the continuation of the league now depends not only on sporting considerations but also on national security concerns.

For now, the fate of the upcoming fixtures rests in the hands of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the central government.
