WATCH | Shikhar Dhawan Goes Ballistic In Nets, Hits Big Shots Ahead Of IPL 2020

Shikhar Dhawan looks in amazing form with the bat ahead of IPL 2020: The senior opener will be seen back in action in the T20 tournament.

IPL 2020 is set to take place after initially getting postponed due to the dreaded Coronavirus (Covid-19). The game of cricket, like any other sport, was put on hold due to the Covid-19 induced lockdown, much to the frustration of fans who were too stuck inside indoors. As the IPL starts, all the players will be finally seen back in action on the 22-yard cricket strip in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Team India's senior opener Shikhar Dhawan will be closely monitored in the forthcoming IPL season as he has not been in great form with the bat in past few games for the national team.

Also, when it comes to fill in the opening slot in the national team, Dhawan is facing competition from in-form wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul who has proved his batting prowess and ability to bat both as an opener and down the order during India vs New Zealand series early in 2020.
Shikhar Dhawan batted like a beast when he returned to nets as the Delhi Capitals contingent trained for the upcoming IPL edition. Dhawan shared a clip on social media in which he can be seen batting in top gear and smashing the bowlers for big shots.
Dhawan captioned the post on Twitter, "Getting back into the rhythm - step by step! Love middling the ball". Here's the video...
Franchise Delhi Capitals, originally founded as Delhi Daredevils in the year 2008, is the only team that has never qualified for the finals of the T20 League. For the 12th season (2019) of the IPL, Delhi Capitals decided to retain their fourteen players and traded their former player Shikhar Dhawan from Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Just a few days back, Shikhar Dhawan joined a zoom video conference from UAE and answered the questions from the journalists. "In the later stages of IPL scoring runs may not be easier as the pitches might act slow. Overall the performance of batsmen will depend on the nature of pitches in Arab Emirates. Since matches will be played on three grounds and travelling will be less, the body will get more time to recover and that's good for the cricketers", Shikar Dhawan said this to ABP News from Dubai on the question whether less travelling time between the matches will make it easier for the cricketers this year and may help the frontline batsmen to score more.
