With just a few days left for the much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, all the franchises are busy training and sweating it out in nets for the popular T20 League. Soon after Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI allowed all eight teams to leave their camps, Mumbai Indians, like other IPL franchises landed in UAE and then started their preparations for the tournament after completing the mandatory 6-day isolation period. All teams are training at different venues across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the 'Blue Brigade' undertook their training drills under the watchful eyes of coaching staff headed by Mahela Jayawardene.
Meanwhile, the franchise posted a video of their skipper Rohit Sharma taking a stunning one-handed catch during a fielding session. The flexibility and acrobatic skills of team India's limited-overs vice captain left the fans stunned. Last season, MI defeated CSK in the finals to emerge as the IPL 2019 champions and even this year, under Rohit's captaincy, MI will hope to continue their good run in the upcoming season.
MI faced a major blow after Sri Lankan speedster Lasith Malinga made himself unavailable for IPL 2020, due to personal reasons and to be with family back home in Sri Lanka. The franchise then roped in Australian speedster James Pattinson as a replacement for the veteran speedster.
