IPL 2024 Trading Window: Punjab Kings Released, Retained, Full Squad, Remaining Purse - All You Need to Know

PBKS in IPL 2024: Here's everything fans need to know about Punjab Kings (PBKS) IPL 2024 Trading Window Retained, Released, Full Squad, Remaining Purse.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) IPL 2024 Trading Window Retained, Released, Full Squad, Remaining Purse:The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction is set for December 19 at Dubai's Coca-Cola Arena, with each team allotted a budget of Rs. 100 crore, a hike from the previous year's Rs. 95 crore. Punjab Kings (PBKS), aiming for their first IPL title, are anticipated to make strategic moves after alterations in coaching and captaincy. Surprising many, PBKS retained several players, opting not to release a significant number ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League season.

Sam Curran, the esteemed English all-rounder, remained with Punjab Kings despite a subdued IPL 2023 performance. Having been the IPL's most expensive player bought for 18.5 crore, many speculated his release from the franchise.

In the last season, Curran played all 14 matches, accumulating 276 runs with one half-century. However, his bowling performance disappointed PBKS, securing only 10 wickets at an economy rate exceeding 10, impacting crucial games.

During Shikhar Dhawan's injury, Curran led PBKS in several matches. His potential release would be a significant and risky decision given his previous high-value purchase due to his T20 World Cup 2022 exploits. A resurgence in form could render his all-round skills invaluable in the upcoming edition.

The auction will see the return of many international stars. Australia's World Cup 2023 winners - Steve Smith, Travis Head, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Starc - are set to enter the auction with a starting price of ₹2 crore each. Meanwhile, New Zealand's rising all-rounder Rachin Ravindra, who made waves with remarkable displays in the 2023 World Cup, will enter the bidding arena with a base price of ₹50 lakh or ₹5 million.
