This year, BCCI has halved the prize money and that's why the IPL 2020 winner will be given Rs 10 crore instead of Rs 20 crore, while the losing team will now get only Rs 6.25 crore instead of 12 and a half crore.
Mumbai Indians, who won the IPL title for the year 2019, got Rs 20 crore after winning the tournament and the runners-up Chennai Super Kings got Rs 12 crore and a half, but this time the amount has been halved. The winning team will get a check of Rs 10 crore, while the losing team will be provided a check of Rs 6 crore.
David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad, who got knocked out of the tournament after losing in IPL 2020 Qualifier 2 in the playoffs, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, who were eliminated after losing in the IPL 2020 Eliminator, are going to get Rs 4.375-4.375 crore as reward.
