Rabri Devi’s ‘Keechad’ Response After Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Questions Her, Lalu Yadav In State Assembly: Watch

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had criticised Rabri Devi's appointment as CM when her husband Lalu Prasad Yadav faced a corruption case.

Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi on Saturday reacted to remarks made by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on her.

On Friday, CM Nitish Kumar lost his cool during the proceedings of the state legislative council and made comments on Rabri Devi. Kumar said that when Lalu Prasad "began to sink", he installed his wife in his post as the chief minister.

He was referring to the circumstances in which Rabri Devi had succeeded her husband Lalu Prasad, the RJD president, as the chief minister.

Lalu Prasad Yadav made his wife the chief minister of Bihar while facing an arrest warrant in a fodder scam case due to which he had to resign.

On Saturday, replying to the question about Nitish Kumar's remark on her, Rabri Devi said, "Keechad mein humko nahin jana hai" (I don't want to stoop that low), while speaking to reporters in Patna.

Nitish Kumar Looses Cool On Question Over Girls' Education

It all started when  RJD MLC Urmila Thakur expressed her dissatisfaction over the reply by state education minister Sunil Kumar to her question on girls' education.

Thakur said that girls were deprived of education in her Begusarai district as "reaching the nearest school requires them to walk four to five kilometres".

Kumar sharply reacted to the claim, asking: "Do you people even know what we have done for girls' education? Village girls hardly went to schools in Bihar until we came to power."

He further lashed at the opposition saying they have no idea what his government has done for women. You may be women yourselves but what has been your contribution?"

He then launched an attack on former CM Rabri Devi, "When her husband began to sink, he installed his wife (in the CM’s post).”

RJD leader and former deputy to CM Nitish, Tejashwi Yadav slammed the former for his comments reminding that she was the first female CM of Bihar and is older than him.
