'I Did My HIV Test': Shikhar Dhawan Recalls Hilarious Incident When He Dared To Get His First Tattoo

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) skipper Shikhar Dhawan revealed how he got his first tattoo when he was 14-15 and even went ahead to get himself tested for HIV in fear.

Senior opener Shikhar Dhawan's name comes near the top of the list of most flamboyant and stylish cricketers in the Indian cricket team. The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) skipper revealed how he got his first tattoo when he was 14-15 and even went ahead to get himself tested for HIV in fear.

"When I was 14-15 years old, I had gone to Manali and had got a tattoo done on my back without informing my family members. I had to hide it for quite some time, about 3-4 months, and then when my father got to know, he beat me. I got a bit scared after doing the tattoo because I had no clue about the number of bodies that needle had pierced. So then I went and did my HIV Test and it's negative to date (laughs)," Dhawan said in the interview.

Dhawan also revealed the meaning of the tattoos he has on his body.

"My first tattoo, on my back, was a Scorpio. Because at that time, that was my thought. Then I made a design on it. I also got a tattoo of Lord Shiva in my hand. I also got a tattoo of Arjun, he was our best archer," he said.

Shikhar Dhawan was acquired by franchise Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction. Punjab released their last year's captain Mayank Agarwal ahead of the auction, after which Shikhar was handed the captaincy responsibility. Punjab's performance under Mayank's captaincy was disappointing in last year's IPL.

Punjab Kings are yet to win a trophy in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL). For the last four seasons, Punjab have been at the sixth position. The team has reached the final four only 2 times. In the first season of IPL, Punjab was eliminated in the semi-finals, while the team ended up as runners-up in IPL 2014.
