Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir Should Meet And Talk, I'm Still Ashamed Of What I Did To Sreesanth: Harbhajan Singh
After a tensed match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians in 2008, Harbhajan had reportedly slapped his national teammate Sreesanth.
Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has once again gone on record to share his regret over his action in the infamous slat gate incident involving S Sreesanth in the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008.
After a tensed match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians in 2008, Harbhajan had reportedly slapped his national teammate Sreesanth. Due to his action, the then Mumbai Indians stars was given an 11-match ban, which meant he could not a further part in that season.
Harbhajan's reiteration of his regret over his action comes after former teammates Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir got involved in a verbal on-field spat after the Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore fixture at the Ekana Stadium on Monday (May 1).
Harbhajan suggested that the two stars of the cricketing sphere should meet and hug and resolve the differences between the two.
"This fight will not end here, because a lot will be spoken about it. Who said what and why? Everything will be revealed in time. As a player, I have lived this, there was an incident that involved Sreesanth as well, something similar like this happened in 2008," Harbhajan said on his YouTube Channel.
"Even after 15 years, I am deeply ashamed of that altercation (with Sreesanth). Gestures are not right, at that time I used to think what has happened is done and I am always right, but I was wrong and what I did was very wrong."
"When I look back on my incident with Sreesanth, I always think that I should not have done it. I regret that incident very much. You should try to make good memories. I think that these two (Kohli and Gambhir) need to forget what happened today itself and finish the matter. Just meet and talk and resolve this, even I am ready to come and help."
Sreesanth and Harbhajan have long settled their differences and are even working as part of the same commentary panel in IPL 2023.
