IPL Mega Auction 2022: Top 5 Players That Could Turn Out To Be BIG Money Spinners | IPL Auctions

IPL 2022 Auctions: Here is the list of Top 5 Players who could 'break the bank'.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction will see some of the biggest names across the globe go under the hammer. A total of 370 Indian players and 220 overseas players will be up for grabs.

Let us look at some players who could likely see the teams breaking the bank for them.

Shikhar Dhawan

The 36-year-old opener from Delhi has accumulated more than 550 runs in IPL 2020 as well as in IPL 2021 and remained in the top 10 run-scorers in both seasons playing for the Delhi Capitals. In 49 matches for Delhi Capitals in the last three seasons, he has scored 1726 runs At a base price of 2 crores, a huge bidding war can be expected for this southpaw.

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami has taken 79 wickets in 77 IPL matches, averaging 30.40. He was picked by Punjab Kings at 4.8 crores INR in the 2019 IPL auction and has set his base price Rs 2 crore for IPL 2022 Mega Auction. The ability to bowl in the death overs and a deadly yorker, his services will be in high demand for the auction

Ishan Kishan

The left-hand batter, who could also keep wickets, is almost guaranteed to get a lot of attention in the mega auction purely on the basis of his destructive batting style. An Indian wicketkeeper who could also open the batting is a rare commodity, and teams would surely be looking to break the bank for him

He was bought by Mumbai Indian for Rs 6.2 crore in the 2018 auction and in the four seasons with the franchise, he has scored 1133 runs from 45 IPL matches.

Harshal Patel

The Purple Cap winner of last year’s edition. It was a surprise that he was not retained by the Royal Challengers’s Bangalore. He currently holds the joint record for the most number of wickets in a single season.

Shreyas Iyer

Aakash Chopra, the former Indian Cricketer and Pundit, was heard on Twitter saying that Royal Challengers Bangalore could dish out Rs 20 crore for the services of Shreyas Iyer in the auction. That may or may not have been a hyperbole, but certainly Sherayas Iyer can expect the big bucks to be paid for him. He was the skipper of the Delhi Franchise when they reached the final in the 2020 edition. Teams looking for a potential captain should look no further.

David Warner

Three Orange Caps, 5449 IPL runs, title winning skipper, this man needs no more introduction.

Warner was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2014 auction for Rs 5.5 crore. In 2016, he was appointed captain of the side. That year, Warner led Sunrisers to their first IPL title, in which he contributed 848 runs at a 60.57 average. With his base price set at 2 crore INR, he will surely be a hot prospect during the Auction dynamics.
