IPL 2025 Suspension On Cards, No Match From Today: BCCI Sources

According to BCCI sources, no further matches in IPL 2025 will be played from today onward.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly considering suspending the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season due to escalating border tensions between India and Pakistan.

According to BCCI sources, no further matches will be played starting today. A formal announcement is expected once consultations with franchises, broadcasters, and security agencies are completed.

On Thursday evening, the IPL 2025 clash between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at Dharamshala's HPCA Stadium was abruptly halted due to security concerns. Air and drone strikes launched from Pakistan triggered blackouts in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur - regions located near Dharamshala.

The stadium floodlights were turned off, and spectators were promptly asked to vacate the premises for their safety. A special train was arranged to evacuate players, support staff, match officials, commentators, and broadcast crew to a secure location as a precautionary safety measure.

Pakistan to shift PSL to UAE

Amid escalating tensions, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to shift the remainder of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 to United Arab Emirates.

The 10th edition of the PSL began on 11 February, and 26 matches have been completed so far. However, due to the current geopolitical situation, the final eight matches - including four league games and four playoff fixtures - will no longer be played in Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore as originally planned. Instead, these fixtures will now take place in UAE.

The tipping point came when the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings, scheduled for 8 May in Rawalpindi, was cancelled. Reports suggest that drone strikes damaged key infrastructure near the stadium, prompting the PCB to take precautionary action.
