IPL 2025: Ravindra Jadeja Set To Surpass Dwayne Bravo For An Elite CSK Record

Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is set to surpass another CSK legend Dwayne Bravo for an elite record in T20s.

Ravindra Jadeja has been the X-factor for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) over the years and has emerged as one of the defining members of the Chennai-based Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise. Jadeja, who joined the CSK camp back in 2012, is now playing his 12th season for the franchise in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. Jadeja, who has impressed everyone with his exceptional all-round performances, is now set to create a historic record for CSK.

Jadeja is set to surpass another CSK legend Dwayne Bravo for an elite record in T20s. The left-arm spinner is just 11 wickets away from breaking Bravo’s record as CSK’s highest wicket-taker in T20s.

Bravo, who is now the bowling coach of CSK, picked up 154 wickets in 130 matches before retiring in 2022, while Jadeja has claimed 134 wickets in 189 matches. With 11 games remaining this season, he has a strong chance to achieve this milestone.

Jadeja and Bravo both played for Gujarat Lions (GL) in 2016 and 2017 while CSK were banned for two years.

Apart from his bowling, Jadeja has also impressed with the bat, scoring 2,127 runs in 189 matches at a strike rate of 137. He has also taken 105 catches in the IPL, placing him just behind Suresh Raina (109) and Virat Kohli (114), who holds the record for the most catches by a fielder in the tournament. As a finisher, Jadeja has played several crucial knocks, the most famous being in the 2023 final when CSK needed 10 runs off the last two balls to win their fifth IPL trophy and Jadeja calmly delivered under pressure.

In the three matches of this season, the 36-year-old all-rounder has not been in his prime form, scoring just 74 runs at a strike rate of 125 and taking only one wicket so far. The team has also underperformed, winning only one match against Mumbai Indians (MI) while suffering defeats against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Now, they are looking to regain their form in the upcoming matches.
