‘There’s A New Captain Huh’: MS Dhoni's Witty Response To Anchor's Query About Rachin Ravindra Leaves Audience In Stitches | WATCH

During an event, an anchor asked Rachin Ravindra about MS Dhoni's reaction to his dropped catch in CSK's win over the Gujarat Titans on March 26. Dhoni's witty response left the audience in stitches.

During the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2024, several players from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) seemingly made an appearance at a social event. The event provided an opportunity for new recruit Rachin Ravindra, along with established players like Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja and former captain MS Dhoni, to enjoy a lighthearted session amidst the competitive atmosphere of the tournament.

Dhoni has captained the CSK since the inaugural season in 2008, leading them to five IPL titles. He shares the record for most titles with Rohit Sharma, who has led the Mumbai Indians (MI) to five victories.

Rachin Ravindra, who had a memorable outing during the recent CSK versus Gujarat Titans (GT) match, dropped a catch in that game. Ravindra displayed resilience by bouncing back impressively, demonstrating his fielding prowess with three successful catches.

Dhoni's Humour Lights Up The Room

In what seems like a CSK event in the viral video, the host raised the topic of Rachin's dropped catch, querying the CSK opener if he glanced at MS Dhoni after the miss and whether the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman offered any words of advice or encouragement. However, the former CSK skipper interrupted with a humorous response that left the audience bursting into laughter.

“There’s a new captain huh," said Dhoni.

“It’s there but I’m not somebody who reacts a lot, especially at somebody who is playing their first or second game. So yeah. And I think Rutu (Ruturaj Gaikwad) is quite the same. But it was fun to watch him (Rachin) move all around like 360 (degrees) he was everywhere, felt like he was dancing," MS Dhoni added.

Following his victorious debut as Chennai Super Kings' skipper against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Ruturaj Gaikwad guided CSK to their second consecutive triumph in the IPL 2024. This time, they emerged victorious against Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans.

CSK will next lock horns with Delhi Capitals on March 31 (Sunday) at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
