WATCH | 6,6,6: Tim David's Three Consecutive Sixes In Final Over Of MI vs RR IPL 2023 Match
For the first time in the history of Indian Premier League, a 200-plus target was chased successfully at the iconic Wankhede cricket stadium, also the 4th most successful run chase in IPL overall.
Mumbai Indians had several heroes in run-chase against Rajasthan Royals in match number 42 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 but Tim David's unbeaten 45 off 14 balls at strike rate of 321.42, particularly the 20th over finish, was undoubtedly the game-changer for five-time IPL winners. Mumbai needed 17 runs off the last six balls when David hammered Jason Holder for three back-to-back sixes to seal the deal for Mumbai. For the first time in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL), a 200-plus target was chased successfully at the iconic Wankhede cricket stadium, also the fourth most successful run chase in IPL overall. Mumbai Indians registered their fourth win in eighth matches, while last year's runner-up Rajasthan Royals suffered their fourth defeat of the season, playing their 9th match.

"I've been really hungry to finish a game like that. It feels amazing," Tim David said at the post-match press conference. "The boys are excited. The other boys have been putting up big performances, so I was waiting for my turn. So, really pleased."
Even for a big guy like Tim, hitting sixes is not as easy as it looks.
"It (hitting sixes) doesn't come easily, it doesn't feel like it has come easily this season. When you run in that moment, you've got to run with the momentum. I've been putting in some hard work on the training field in the last few weeks. I'm grateful to the support staff and of course, Polly (Pollard) is there. So, lots of conversations and then staying relaxed, and enjoying the games."
