IPL 2020: Chennai Super Kings Gives A Stunning Reply To Fan Asking 'Who's Our Vice-Captain?'

IPL 2020: CSK had a stunning reply for a fan asking 'who's our vice-captain?'.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni lead Chennai Super Kings are going through a rough patch as their two players and some staff members have tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus (Covid-19) just few days ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, slated to start from September 19. BCCI is yet to release the IPL 2020 complete schedule, reasons unknown. ALSO READ | CBI Quizzes Rohit Sharma's Wife's Cousin Bunty Sajdeh In Connection With Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case

After players and staff members testing Covid-19 positive, sudden decision of Suresh Raina opting to miss this year's IPL season came as another shocker for the franchise. With Raina deciding to leave, speculations started doing rounds regarding who is going to replace "CSK vice-captain", who is also the highest run-getter for the franchise.

A fan on Twitter tweeted the similar question to the official handle of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) directly as he wrote,"Leo who is our Vice Captain now?” asked the fan to which the franchise gave a stunning reply.

“Wise captain irukke bayam yen?” wrote CSK in Tamil which loosely translates to “Why fear when we have a wise captain?” The franchise was undoubtedly referring to their strong skipper MS Dhoni who has led the team to three IPL titles in the T20 tournament.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina in an interview indicated that he might return to play the 13th edition of the tournament in the United Arab of Emirates (UAE). “I’ve been training even while quarantining here. You never know you might see me in the camp there again,” Raina told Cricbuzz. “It was a personal decision and I had to come back for my family. There was something that needed to be addressed immediately on the home front,” he said.

Some media reports suggested that a rift between Raina and the team management led to his departure from UAE. However, in a candid interview, CSK owner N Srininvasan expressed his views on whether the star middle-order batsman will return for IPL 2020 or not.

“I have treated him like one (son). The reason for CSK’s success in IPL over the years is because of the fact that franchise never poked its nose into cricketing matters. India Cements is running cricket since ‘60s. I will always remain like that,” Srinivasan told news agency PTI.
