'Calling You Rubbish': Harry Brook's Blunt Remark On Indian Fans Post Getting A Hundred Vs KKR
The England batter remained unbeaten on 100 in just 55 deliveries and helped SRH conclude at 228/4 in their 20 overs, the highest total of the season so far.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batter Harry Brook lit up the Eden Gardens on Friday as he notched up IPL’s 2023 first century against Kolkata Knight Riders. It took him 55 balls to reach the three figures mark, hitting 12 sixes and three fours. Post his heroics, Brook said he was happy to shut down the Indian fans who were criticizing him before he got a century. Before this match, Brook has not performed well in the first three matches he played, scoring 13, 3, and 13.
“You go on social media and people are calling you rubbish. There’s a lot of Indian fans out there who’ll say well done tonight. But they were slagging me off a few days ago. Glad I could shut them up to be honest,” Brook said after the match.
“A lot of people say that opening the batting in T20 is the best time to bat. I’m happy to bat anywhere. I’ve had a lot of success batting at five. Made my name there. My four Test hundreds will have to be over this one. The crowd was phenomenal tonight. I enjoyed it,” he said.

“I’ve had a bit of trouble with spin, but I wanted to use the powerplay to my advantage,” Brook had said in the mid-innings break. “So middle overs wanted to rotate strike and let the other boys do the hitting. It is a belter of a pitch, we need to bowl our lengths rightly and take wickets. We still got a job to do. My girlfriend is here but the rest of my family have just left, I’m sure they’ll all be very happy for me.”
