'Do Not Like Seeing Coaches': Ex England Player Condemns Gautam Gambhir Post His Spat With Virat Kohli

Ever since the incident took place, many former cricketers have commented on the same. The most recent comment was made by former England player Michael Vaughan.

Virat Kohli - Gautam Gambhir's verbal spat has been creating a lot of stir in the cricketing world. The incident transpired after the Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore clash in the IPL 2023, with both of them engaging in a war of words. Ever since the incident took place, many former cricketers have commented on the same issue. The most recent comment was made by former England player Michael Vaughan.

“I don't mind players having small confrontations. It's just the game. You don't wanna see it every day but I do not like seeing coaches get involved. I don't see why the coach or any part of the coaching department is involved in the game. What goes on the field stays on the field. If there is an argument between two players, they need to sort it out. Coaches should be in the dugout or the dressing room looking at strategies,” former England great Vaughan spoke at the post-match show on Cricbuzz.

Post their spats, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir have been handed heavy fines for breaking the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 Code of Conduct.

The IPL official release said, “Lucknow Super Giants' Mentor Gautam Gambhir has been fined 100 percent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.”

After the incident, Gautam Gambhir accepted the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct while Virat Kohli was fined 100 percent of his match fee. However, this is not the first time that Gambhir and Kohli were engaged having a verbal fight as they did the same in IPL 2023 and 2016 editions.

Talking about the game, Royal Challengers Bangalore secured a victory over Lucknow Super Giants.
