CSK Vs KKR: 'Dear Sheldon Please Wear Helmet &...', Ex-India Cricketer Yuvraj Singh Advises KKR Wicketkeeper
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wicketkeeper Sheldon Jackson grabbed several eyeballs by stumping CSK's Robin Uthappa in their opener against CSK
New Delhi: With lightning quick hands behind the wicket, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wicketkeeper Sheldon Jackson stumped CSK's Robin Uthappa, leaving the right-handed batsman high and dry in the IPL opener match on Saturday being played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Sure, Sheldon did grab eyeballs. Even cricket stalwart Sachin Tendulkar praised him for the tremendous feat. But what caught former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh's attention was the wicketkeeper not wearing helmet while keeping to spinners. The Saurashtra wicketkeeper-batsman was seen wearing a cap while keeping to KKR's both spinners — Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Naraine — in the first innings.
Yuvraj advised Sheldon to wear a helmet and be safe. Taking this to Twitter, the 2011 ICC World Cup "Man Of The Series" said: "Dear Sheldon Jackson please wear a helmet when u keeping to spinners ! You are a very talented player and have a golden opportunity after a long time be safe !!! And all the best."

Sheldon, 35, is a Saurashtra wicketkeeper-batsman who made his Ranji debut in 2011. After his emphatic innings with the bat in the 2012-13 domestic season, Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) roped in the right-handed batsman in 2013. Later in 2017, he attracted the buyers from Kolkata Knight Riders and since then the wicketkeeper-batsman is with the "purple army".
CSK vs KKR: CSK's innings
After a top-order stumble down, the last-minute pyrotechnics from CSK's veteran cricketer MS Dhoni (50 off 38 balls) and a good 70-run partnership between the skipper Ravinder Jadeja & the former has given something for the Super Kings bowlers to defend. The 2021 IPL champions have set a target of 132 for Shreyas Iyer's men in the opener.
MS Dhoni played a match after 162 days and scored a half-ton. Congratulating MS Dhoni, Sachin tweeted explaining CSK's innings and how MSD has walked a tightrope to give a modest total to the team on a tough Wankhede track.
