IPL Likely To Have Closing Ceremony For First Time In Three Years: Report

BCCI has started preparations for the closing ceremony of this tournament. The apex cricketing board has floated a tender to host the closing ceremony.

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to have a closing ceremony for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, ANI reported. If everything goes well and as per planned, IPL will have a closing ceremony after a long gap of three years. The final call on IPL 2022 closing ceremony will get a thumbs up from the top brass, providing the Coronavirus situation in India is under control.

The final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will be played at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. As per the ANI report, the venue of the IPL 2022 closing ceremony can be the Narendra Modi Stadium.

"BCCI is working on the plan to have a closing ceremony this year. We are discussing having a closing ceremony this year after the final match in Ahmedabad. We want to bring back the colour of IPL so you might see the closing ceremony," a source from BCCI told ANI.

The 15th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is slated to be played from 26th March to 29th May. This year, a total of 10 teams will be seen participating in the IPL instead of 8. Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are the two new teams that are playing in the IPL for the first time.
