The IPL 2022 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans will be played at Mumbai's iconic Wankhede Stadium on Monday.
New Delhi: The fourth match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will be played between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. The two teams will be making their debuts tonight at Mumbai's iconic Wankhede Stadium. Senior all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be seen leading Gujarat Titans, while in-form batter KL Rahul will lead Lucknow Super Giants. One of the biggest challenges in front of both captains is getting the right playing XI.
Gujarat has three opener batters in their squad apart from Shubman Gill. Australia's Matthew Wade, senior wicket-keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha and Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz can open the innings if asked. It is believed that Hardik will give preference to Wade as opener over Gurbaz. Saha and Gurkeerat Singh Mann might bat at the third and fourth spot.
Hardik Pandya can bat at number five, Vijay Shankar at six, and Rahul Tewatia at number seven. Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami, Dominic Drakes, and Lockie Ferguson will form Lucknow's bowling attack. Hardik, Shankar and Tewatia can bowl too. They have seven bowling options.
Talking about Lucknow Super Giants, the team has one of the most dangerous opening pairs in the form of captain KL Rahul and Manan Vohra.
Evin Lewis, Manish Pandey and Deepak Hooda will form the middle order. Krunal Pandya will be asked to play the finishers' role at number six with Krishnappa Gautam at number seven. Ravi Bishnoi, Dushmantha Chamira, Ankit Rajput, and Avesh Khan will form Lucknow's bowling attack.
