RCB vs MI: Virat Kohli Explains Why Royal Challengers Bangalore Can Win The IPL 2021 Trophy

MI vs RCB, IPL 2021: RCB skipper Virat Kohli believes that youngsters like Washington Sundar and Mohammad Siraj have gained confidence after playing for the national team, which will help Royal Challengers Bangalore in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL).

In every season of the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore arrive on the field with a team team that looks amazing on paper but still have never succeeded to clinch the IPL title.

However, in IPL 2021, it seems like Virat Kohli has a lot of hope from his team, especially the youngsters.  Before the inaugural match against Mumbai Indians, Kohli explained the reason for this.

Captain Virat Kohli believes that youngsters like Washington Sundar and Mohammad Siraj have gained confidence after playing for the national team, which will help Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

Prior to the 14th season of the IPL, Kohli talked about how him playing international cricket helped him in the IPL, when he was young and as per the RCB skipper the same thing can happen with Washington and Siraj, who recently performed well in international matches for team India.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on the defending champions Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021 season opener on Friday.

“From my experience I can vouch that when you do well for your national team, it is always an exciting time to come into IPL. That is something that I gained as a youngster… bring that confidence that I gained at the international level back into the IPL set-up. Watching guys like Siraj, Washy and Saini come into their own—you want these guys to show their personality and confidence on the field for RCB as well.

That way we can pull together stronger as a team. Very exciting that our youngsters have become confident because of their (international) experience; now the oppositions know that these are the guys who can make an impact in any situation, which obviously is a great sign for us,” said Virat Kohli, ahead RCB vs MI season opener in Chennai.

The confident Bangalore skipper also said that every team being asked to play at neutral venues in IPL 2021 will shows the strength of the team and it will make this year's tournament very competitive.

He added, 'After doing good in such a competitive environment last year in IPL 2020, I am confident that we will do well this time too.'
