Bret Lee Backs David Warner After Sunrisers Hyderabad Drops Him For SRH vs DC Playing XI
IPL 2021 news: Backing his under-fire friend, Lee said that Warner is among the highest run-getters in the IPL, with 5447 runs in 148 IPL matches and an impressive strike rate of over 140.
Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee is "shocked' to see David Warner getting dropped from playing-XI after removal of Aussie great as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Warner was left out of Hyderabad's playing XI in their match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday.
Reacting to this, former Australian star bowler Bret Lee accepted that Warner was currently not batting well in terms of strike rate this season but backed his former teammate by stating that Warner is one of the most prolific run-getters for Hyderabad and always ensures he maintains his position in the Orange Cap race.

"I'm actually shocked that David Warner was not included in the XI. I know he hasn't been playing his best form of cricket in terms of his strike rate this season but he's always been there and there about with the Orange Cap party," Brett Lee said during the Star Sports pre-match show.
Two days ago, Hyderabad team management decided to axe David Warner as Hyderabad captain and veteran Kane Williamson was adjudged as the new skipper.
Backing his under-fire friend, Lee said that Warner is among the highest run-getters in the IPL, with 5447 runs in 148 IPL matches and an impressive strike rate of over 140. Warner is the only overseas batsman among top five batsmen to score most runs in IPL. The remaining four players are Indians. This clearly shows that Warner is the most successful overseas batsman in the history of IPL.
"He has scored runs throughout the IPL. Tell you what, he's not happy. He would not be happy but all he can do now is be a good team player and support his team and hopefully for the Sunrisers, they can find some momentum," Lee added.
