New Delhi: Team India defeated West Indies by 6 wickets in the Ind vs WI 1st ODI to take a 1-0 series lead. The win in the series opener was historic for the hosts, as it was their 1000th ODI. Captain Rohit Sharma, playing his maiden ODI game as India's skipper, scored a heroic half-century to help his team clinch an amazing win.

Ex-India skipper Virat Kohli, who was playing his first-ever ODI game under Rohit's captaincy, returned to the pavilion after playing just four balls but before that, he managed to attain a big feat.
