The same was the case when team India's stand-in skipper for Ind vs Eng Edgbaston Test, Jasprit Bumrah registered a marvelous record on Saturday. Bumrah broke the world record for scoring the most runs in an over in Test cricket. His unforgettable batting effort helped him break Windies legend Brian Lara's record.
In the 84th over of the Indian innings on Day 2, bowled by veteran Stuart Broad, Bumrah scored 35 runs. India's stand-in skipper had scored no runs off 7 balls when this over started but by the time this over ended, Bumrah had raced to 29 runs off just 14 deliveries. Broad now holds the record for bowling the most expensive over in both T20 and Test cricket.

Reacting to Bumrah's historic feat, Ravi Shastri said, "Don’t tell me I was again on the mic when 35 runs were scored. I thought I had seen it all, but not really. 36 from Yuvraj (Singh), 36 I had hit myself and today what I saw was bizarre. It’s something you would have never imagined. A world record from Jasprit Bumrah, batting at No. 10, as captain of India for the first time," said Shastri in a video posted by BCCI's Twitter account.
