However, some sources from BCCI told PTI that the players have not violated the Covid-19 protocols and the Australian media is deliberately running such reports.

Some Australian media reports suggest that all five team India players have violated the Covid-19 protocols, which is now being investigated. However, some sources from BCCI told PTI that the players have not violated the Covid-19 protocols and the Australian media is deliberately running such reports.

“No, there has been no breach in bio-security protocols. Everyone associated with the Indian team is well aware of the protocols,” a BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

On Friday, an Indian fan posted a video on social media, in which he claimed that he payed food bill of 5 Team India players. The video has also gone viral on social media in which the players can be seen sitting in an indoor restaurant. According to Covid-19 protocols set by Cricket Australia, any player can go to the restaurant but it should not be an indoor eating one, whereas all 5 Indian players including Rohit Sharma reportedly went to an indoor restaurant in Melbourne.

The Indian Cricket Team is currently playing a four-match Test series against Australia, and the two teams are tied at 1-1 after the first two Test matches. The third test is to slated to begin in Sydney from 7 January.
