India Open: Kidambi Srikanth beats Huang Yuxiang to enter men's singles final
Kidambi Srikanth made a resounding comeback to outclass his Chinese opponent Huang Yuxiang 16-21, 21-14, 21-19 to enter the men's singles final on Saturday.
New Delhi: India's ace male shuttler Kidambi Srikanth secured a place in the finals of the India Open Super Series event by defeating Huang Yuxiang in the semifinals. Kidambi Srikanth made a resounding comeback to outclass his Chinese opponent Huang Yuxiang 16-21, 21-14, 21-19 to enter the men's singles final on Saturday.
In the title clash, Srikanth will either take on fellow Indian compatriot Parupalli Kashyap or second seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark.
Srikanth on Friday got the better of Wang Tzu Wei of Chinese Taipei with a comfortable 21-16, 21-11 win to secure a place in the last four of a 500-level tournament after a gap of four years.
Kidambi Srikanth overcame a stiff resistance from fellow Indian Sai Praneeth 21-23, 21-11, 21-19 in one hour and two minutes to secure a place in the last eight, It was just his third win in eight meetings over the former Swiss Open runner-up.
In the women's singles semi-finals, PV Sindhu will face China's He Bingjiao later in the day.
