Ind vs Eng, Day 2 Of Chennai Test: Joe Root Reaches Incredible Milestone With A Six
England skipper Joe Root on Saturday hit a brilliant six off Ashwin to become the first batsman to score a double hundred in his 100th Test appearance.
England captain Joe Root scored a double century against India on Day 2 of Ind vs Eng Chennai Test at Chepauk. This is England skipper's first double century against India in Test cricket. However, the flamboyant batsman has now scored five double centuries in his Test career.

England skipper Joe Root on Saturday hit a brilliant six off Ashwin to become the first batsman to score a double hundred in his 100th Test appearance.
Root was dismissed for 218 at Chennai, which is his highest individual score against India. Prior to this, Root had scored 154 * runs in Nottingham in the year 2014. Apart from this, Root has now become only the second player to score more than 150 runs in 100th Test.
Earlier, Inzamam-ul-Haq had scored 184 runs in his 100th Test. He scored this century against India in 2005 in Bengaluru. Root has scored 150 plus runs in his third consecutive Test match.
After returning from the Tea break, Root got LBW out for 218 runs off Shahbaz Nadeem's delivery, who was just playing his career's second Test match.
Root has scored 20 centuries in Test cricket, his four double tons have been made against the teams of the Indian subcontinent. He scored the first double century of his career against Sri Lanka in 2014 (unbeaten 200 runs).
His second double century was against Pakistan (254) in 2016 at Old Trafford. This is also his best innings ever in Test cricket.
His third double century was against New Zealand (226). In January this year, he played an innings of 228 runs against Sri Lanka on his own home soil. This was his fourth double century.
