New Delhi: India tightened their grip on the fourth Test at Wankhede stadium on Sunday with the help Virat Kohli and Jayant Yadav’s historic partnership. India’s skipper Virat Kohli played a milestone filled innings, breaking numerous records but two English players achieved unusual feats in the series decider game. Debutant Keaton Jennings put an outstanding performance in the first innings, scoring 112 runs to guide England in a comfortable position. Jennings broke 68-year-old record on Monday to score a hundred in the maiden innings but the 24-year-old cricketer failed drastically in second innings eventually earning a ‘Golden Duck’. The South Africa born player became the only 4th player in the Test history to score a century and a duck on Test debut. Pakistan Mohammed Wasim was bowled for a duck in the first innings but returned back in style score a hundred at Lahore in successive innings in 1996. Andrew Hudson of South Africa fired 163 in the debut innings but failed to open his account in the second innings of the game in 1992 versus West Indies. India’s Gundappa Vishwanath did something similar in 1969 against Australia. The right hand batsman recorded a duck in the first innings but that did not hammer his confidence, he returned in the second innings to score 139 runs. Adil Rashid, one of the successful bowlers in the series clinched four wickets in the fourth Test match against India at the cost of 192 runs. Rashid costly spell has earned him a top spot in the list in terms of conceding runs between these two sides in Test matches. Earlier, James Anderson Conceded 182 runs in 2007 at Oval.
