New Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 begins with newly-appointed skipper Ravindra Jadeja-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the season opener on March 26 at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.
Just days before the IPL 2022 season opener between Chennai and Kolkata, the announcement was made about MS Dhoni, the second most successful skipper in IPL history, stepping down as the captain of Chennai Super Kings.

Ex-India skipper Virat Kohli was among many who paid tributes to 'Thala' for such an outstanding career as CSK skipper. Kohli had posted a moving note on Twitter as he lauded the veteran for his remarkable captaincy stint with Chennai Super Kings.
Ahead of CSK vs KKR IPL 2022 match, Virat got a chance to meet Dhoni during a practice session in Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium. A video went viral on social media in which Virat can be seen walking towards Dhoni, before giving him a heartwarming long hug.
