Star India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal, after missing out on scoring a ton in the series opener in Hyderabad last week, reached a well-compiled century off just 151 balls on the opening day of IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Visakhapatnam. What made the occasion more special was Jaiswal reaching his hundred by hitting a massive six off Tom Hartley's bowling. Jaiswal's attacking approach, right from the start of his innings, showcased his intent to dominate the visiting side.
Overall, this was Jaiswal's second century in Test cricket and his first-ever on Indian soil, marking a significant milestone in his career. Notably, Jaiswal narrowly missed out on a hundred in the Hyderabad Test, posting a solid 80 in India's first innings.
After 40 and 49 runs partnership with skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, respectively, Jaiswal stitched a solid 50-plus stand with Shreyas Iyer, propelling India past 150 runs. He reached his century during the second session of Day 1's play. Jaiswal's gritty innings helped India cross the 200-run mark. At Tea break on Day 1 of IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag, India were 225/3 after 63 overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal join elite list of Indian batters
22-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the 4th Indian to score Test centuries in both home and away matches before turning 23. Sachin Tendulkar, Vinod Kambli and Ravi Shastri are the other three players who have achieved this elusive feat. Notably, All four players have represented Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy.
In another remarkable feat, Yashasvi became the 15th Indian opener to score a century at home against England.
IND vs ENG 2nd Test is his 21st First-Class match; Jaiswal has surpassed the 100-run mark for the 11th time, underscoring his consistency and prowess as a batsman in the longest format.
