Yashasvi Jaiswal's Shock Exit: Leaves Mumbai Due To 'Personal Reasons'

Amidst the news of his domestic switch, one pressing question arises - what prompted such a move?

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is set to represent Goa in the domestic circuit, departing from Mumbai, according to a report by The Times of India.

The southpaw is believed to have formally requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) via email to facilitate his state transfer for the upcoming season.

Yashasvi Jaiswal moves from Mumbai to Goa

"He has sought an NOC from us, citing personal reasons for his decision." an MCA source confirmed.

Jaiswal's departure follows a trend seen in recent years, with Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad also moving to different states in search of new opportunities.

A key figure in India's Test setup since his debut, Jaiswal has been the team's most consistent batter in the format. In 19 Test matches, the stylish left-hander has amassed 1,798 runs at an average of 52.88, including four centuries and 10 half-centuries. His First-Class (FC) career for Mumbai has been equally prolific, with 3,712 runs in 36 matches at an outstanding average of 60.00.

In the meantime, Jaiswal is focused on the IPL 2025 season, where he continues to represent the Rajasthan Royals.

Jaiswal's move cited as "personal," but is there more to it?

In India's last Test series in Australia, Yashasvi Jaiswal emerged as the team's leading run-scorer, scoring 391 runs in five matches at an average of 43.44, including a century and two half-centuries.

Amidst the news of his domestic switch, one pressing question arises - what prompted such a move?

Historically, several players have transitioned to other state teams, often due to a lack of opportunities in Mumbai's highly competitive setup. However, that wasn't the case with Jaiswal. He had been one of Mumbai’s most reliable batters in recent years.
