World Cup 2019: Hardik Pandya completes 100 wickets in international cricket

Pandya dismissed Afghanistan's skipper Gulbadin Naib to complete 100 wickets in international cricket. The medium pacer struck again to dismiss Najibullah Zadran who was looking dangerous in pursuit of chasing down India's 225-run target.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya who is an integral part of India's team at the 2019 ICC World Cup achieved an individual milestone in the World Cup clash against Afghanistan at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Pandya dismissed Afghanistan's skipper Gulbadin Naib to complete 100 wickets in international cricket. The medium pacer struck again to dismiss Najibullah Zadran who was looking dangerous in pursuit of chasing down India's 225-run target. Batting first, India posted a below-par 224 total with skipper Virat Kohli top scoring with a fluent 67 runs. Kedhar Jadhav was the only other Indian who could register a half century at the Rose Bowl as the Afghan bowlers bowled in the right areas all through the Indian innings. Pandya has represented India in all three formats of the game and achieved considerable success. He is known for his belligerent hitting ability with the bat and handy medium pace in seam friendly conditions. Pandya has been in good form with the bat for India at the ongoing World Cup, chipping in with quick-fire cameos in the later stages of the innings against South Africa, Australia and Pakistan. Pandya scored a whirlwind 27-ball 48 runs against Australia which was instrumental in India piling up a monumental total against the Aussies at the Oval . Pandya also chipped in with two wickets against the Australians.
