World Cup 2019: MS Dhoni becomes only second Indian cricketer to play 350 one day internationals

Dhoni became  the second Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to reach the herculean landmark in his career.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni attained another milestone in his glittering ODI career after he became only the second Indian cricketer to play 350 one day internationals. Dhoni achieved the milestone when he took to the field against New Zealand for India in the first semi-finals of the ongoing World Cup at Manchester. Dhoni became  the second Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to reach the herculean landmark in his career which has studded with some many accolades. Before taking to the field against New Zealand in India's World Cup semifinal encounter at Manchester, Dhoni had played 349 ODIs, 346 for India and 3 for Asia XI. Dhoni also became the second highest stumper in the history of the Cricket World Cup after he effected his 8th stumping He has become the tenth cricketer to play 350 ODIs in the world after Tendulkar, who has played the most number of ODIs (463), Mahela Jayawardena(448), Sanath Jayasuriya(445), Kumar Sangakkara (404), Shahid Afridi (398), Inzamam-ul-Haq (378), Ricky Ponting (375), Wasim Akram (356) and Muttiah Muralitharan (350). MS Dhoni also become the first cricketer to play 350 ODIs at a stretch as a designated wicket-keeper. Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara has played more games than him, but he played his first 44 matches as a specialist batsman.
