WI vs IND: Rohit Sharma Hits Fastest Fifty In His Test Career, Puts India In Commanding Position

India’s skipper Rohit Sharma played yet another incredible knock as he collected a third back-to-back fifty-plus score in the ongoing tour of the West Indies, his fastest half-century in Test cricket. Mohammed Siraj led the Indian bowling attack, dismantling the West Indies’ middle order, picking up six wickets in the first session on  Day 4 with Rohit breaching the fifty score within 35 deliveries.

Openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal made a 98-run opening partnership in just 71 deliveries, helping ndia add to their first-innings lead of 183 runs. It was the second-highest opening stand behind Marcus Trescothick and Michael Vaughan (10) in terms of run-rates* (8.28). Earlier, on Day 4, Mohammed Siraj registered his second five-wicket haul as his first came at the Gabba during the 2021 series. Debutant Mukesh Kumar also grabbed a couple of wickets and so did Jadeja and Ashwin also took a wicket.

Windies after resuming their innings at 229/5, were in a dominant position on Day 3 before  Joshua Da Silva was dismissed by Siraj at the team score of 208/4.
