Openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal made a 98-run opening partnership in just 71 deliveries, helping ndia add to their first-innings lead of 183 runs. It was the second-highest opening stand behind Marcus Trescothick and Michael Vaughan (10) in terms of run-rates* (8.28). Earlier, on Day 4, Mohammed Siraj registered his second five-wicket haul as his first came at the Gabba during the 2021 series. Debutant Mukesh Kumar also grabbed a couple of wickets and so did Jadeja and Ashwin also took a wicket.
