The Mumbai batsman took a cheeky dig at reporters, saying that the journalists would have written him off if he wouldn't have scored runs as an opener in the ongoing home series against Proteas

With three double hundred in ODIs, and now a double in Tests – HITMAN Rohit Sharma is turning up to become a legend that keeps growing to amaze cricket pundits and fans. It took just 25 innings for the 32-year old to get his first double ton in ODI’s as an opener and now in test the swashbuckling batsman attained his maiden double ton in Tests in just his fourth inning. Rohit Sharma's average at home stands at a Bradmanesque 99.84, more than any other batsman in Test history. The Mumbai batsman took a cheeky dig at reporters, saying that the journalists would have written him off if he wouldn't have scored runs as an opener in the ongoing home series against Proteas. "For me it was like, whenever you get the opportunity, it was a good opportunity to bat on top of the order, otherwise there was a lot to happen," Rohit Sharma told reporters at the post match press conference on Day 2. "I know, you guys write a lot about me, now you will write good things," he added. Fans at Ranchi Stadium erupted in joy as Rohit Sharma (212-runs off 255 balls) smashed a massive six to reach his maiden double ton in Test cricket. The 32-year-old also achieved the unique feat of becoming the first Indian batsman to complete double-century with a six in Test history.
