WATCH: Rohit Sharma Sacrifices His Wicket For Cheteshwar Pujara In Latter's 100th Test
Rohit was batting at a strike rate of over 150 when he decided to sacrifice his wicket for Cheteshwar Pujara who was playing his 100th Test match.
India registered their second win on the trot in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy beating Australia by 6 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday. Despite losing the toss in each of the two Test matches, the hosts found a way to come out on top, beating the Kangaroos by an innings and 132 runs in the series opener before their win at the National Capital.
India captain Rohit Sharma was one of the team's stars in the first Test match where he scored a sensational hundred on a wicket where most other batters were tested. The Indian openers also looked in great touch in the second innings of the Delhi Test and never let the side get into a hole despite losing KL Rahul early as he took the attack to the opposition and eventually made 31 off 20 at a strike rate of 155.00.
Despite scoring at a brisk rate and looking good, Rohit sacrificed his wicket for Cheteshwar Pujara, who was playing his 100th Test, even though he had realised there was no second run on the ball where he got run out. While he did say no to his partner whom he had been teammates with since his U-19 days, Pujara continued to run and Rohit thought it best to give up his wicket.
A video of the same has surfaced on social media.

After the run out, Pujara too took it upon himself to finish the match and was the one to score the winning run for the home team. He remained unbeaten on 31 after getting out for a duck in the first innings.
